The COVID-19 pandemic is having a devastating effect on the health and economic stability of our world. Pangea Global Health Education has made the difficult decision that we will not travel to Africa this year, both for the safety of our team and program participants and to avoid burdening our African partners with additional activities.

Despite our disappointment, we will use this time to develop new ways to support healthcare education wherever it is needed and we remain committed to supporting our partners in Africa in any way they find useful. We look forward to planning our next program in 2022.

We are acutely aware that the battle against the coronavirus is led by health education: education of the public and health workers in hygiene and distancing practices and rapid upskilling of thousands of health workers to rise to the challenge of the care of the sickest patients.
